Who We Are
We are a branch office of the Ethiopian Community Development Council (ECDC), a national resettlement agency that has been empowering and supporting refugees since 1983. As a multicultural organization, many of our team members reflect the refugee populations we serve, bringing unique insights and shared experiences to their work. With offices in Brattleboro and Bennington, as well as a vibrant Multicultural Community Center (MCC) in Brattleboro, we help individuals and families rebuild their lives after experiencing war, persecution, and unimaginable hardship.

Our clients bring resilience, talent, and hope to our community. As they navigate the inevitable challenges of adapting to a new place, culture, and climate, we stand alongside them—offering guidance, resources, and encouragement every step of the way. Through our support, they find their footing, contributing to the community by working in local businesses, pursuing education, and enriching the region with their creativity and diverse cultures. Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive future for Vermont.

What We Do
We provide comprehensive support to help refugees build stable, independent lives in their new communities. Our services include housing assistance, access to medical care, referrals for employment support, English language (ELL) classes, Cultural Orientation (CO), and connections to essential community partners and resources. Through these programs, we empower individuals and families to navigate their new environment, integrate into the community, and achieve long-term self-sufficiency.
